[ There's a lot of feelings Eridan has for his father. First off, yeah, this is his father and his only surviving parental unit, and that means a lot to him. Despite how he tends to think of himself as not needing his father in the slightest, he still finds himself wanting to be rescued or spend all of the time together that he can muster, just to try to make up for the time that he's not had with him. Unfortunately, Eridan has this complex that even if he has shown that he does love him and he's been sorry for not being around in his life, he just... Eridan thinks of it to be the opposite and it's all centered around the fact that he wasn't around much whenever Eridan needed him the most. ... And he doesn't know how to react sometimes around his father, which strains their relationship and makes things just a tad bit awkward. BUT!! Fortunately, he's taking their time together in stride, even if it's causing a ton of trouble for his father in the meantime. He doesn't mean it, but... it just seems to happen.]
